Sophia Loren
Crawford
Feb 28, 2011 — Jun 7, 2026
Sophia Loren Crawford of Cleveland, TN crossed the Rainbow Bridge during the wee hours of Sunday, June 7, 2026. She was born on Monday, February 28, 2011 in Chickamauga, GA to her mother, Momma Kitty, and her father, Joseph. She was one of five kittens born in their first litter together. Sophia was the first kitten in her litter to eat solid food and use the litterbox. She was a very alert and intelligent Russian Blue. She and her black furred brother, Jet, moved to Cleveland, TN with their human mother, Amber, in April 2011. Together, the three of them survived the April 27, 2011 tornadoes. Sophia was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Momma Kitty, and her brother Jet. Jet passed away suddenly in January 2014, a month shy of their third birthday. Sophia Loren had many nicknames bestowed upon her by her human mother, Amber. Her main nickname was "Sophie". She was also addressed in Italian as "Bella Bambina", which means "Beautiful Little Girl". Other pet names included "Stouffers" and "Toefies".Sophia's favorite toys were her stuffed, green dill pickle and fuzzy, yellow ball. She often cuddled with her dill pickle while sleeping in her bed. She would walk around her room, carrying her fuzzy, yellow ball in her mouth while meowing. Sophia loved sitting and lying in cardboard boxes of various sizes. She also had a small, cosmic-themed tent where she enjoyed napping. She was very vocal at mealtimes. Her favorite dry food was Purina Gentle. For wet food, she loved Friskies Prime Filets and/or Shreds in tuna, chicken and/or whitefish flavors. There were many cute things Sophia did. She purred very loudly. When she drank water, she usually had a drop left on her chin. She would cross her front paws like a princess when lying on her belly. She even had a trick she would do before receiving her wet food! Her human father, Ray, would ask her to put her paw on the wall while she meowed for her meal. Once she placed her paw on the wall, he would reward her by placing the bowl in front of her.Sophia enjoyed getting love pats and being petted. She loved snuggling up to her human parents on the couch or in bed. She and her human mother were very close. Sophia would lick and chew Amber's curly hair and pet her head with her paw. She would also rub her chin on Amber's nose and chin lovingly. She was a very affectionate and gentle kitty.Sophia brought much joy and tenderness to her family in her 15 years, 3 months and 10 days of life. She is survived by her human parents, Amber and Ray Crawford, and her adopted fur-siblings: Cookie, Leonardo, Cherry, Blondie and Sonny. Her family loves and misses her dearly. They look forward to the day that they are all reunited in Heaven. Until then, her family knows that she will rest in heavenly peace and dream of them.
