When we received you as a gift in the Fall of 2005, we had no idea of the impact you would have on us as a family and as individuals.

Your boy, Collin, named you "Rascal" the first few minutes of meeting you because you destroyed his bedroom before he got home from school. He loved you at first sight. I believe you loved him at first sight as well.

Joey-Joey & I came in as close seconds on your "Favorite" list. You would stay at your Boy, Collin's side from the time he came in from school until he left for school again. You knew that he was yours and you were his. I remember how you loved sleeping in the bed with Collin, then Joey-Joey after Collin left for school. They both slept under electric blankets and you enjoyed the warmth. I have pictures of you resting in the bed with Joey-Joey. You even tried from time to time to get a hold of his stuffed animals to shred apart. You truly were a Rascal.

Joey-Joey went to Heaven in 2007 because of complications of pneumonia. You knew he was gone and with all my heart, I believed that you mourned his passing.

You were so smart. Collin taught you how to sit for a treat. You would ask for a treat by barking. The greatest trick of all was how you would spin into a circle when Collin asked you to do a "360". You definitely deserved a treat after that.

We got another dog, "Racket", to keep you company while we were out of the house. His name suited him as well. I kept reminding you that Racket was your doggie, but he stayed defiant of anything that you tried to teach him.

I am glad that we got Racket to keep you company because your boy, Collin, was killed by a drunk driver in 2008. I believe you mourned his passing as much as I did. Our world changed forever when Collin left us..... no words or doggie expressions can explain the hurt in our hearts that Collin was gone.

So it has been us three for years. You were so sweet to do your tricks when you were wanting a treat or something to eat. I will miss being entertained by you. I will also miss how you would come over to me and nudge your head under my hand when you wanted to be scratched or have your head patted. You were such a smart doggie. I will miss your companionship most of all. You brought so much joy to our small family.
