Packer
Gale
d. Jul 5, 2022
Yesterday, July 4th, I said goodbye to My Packer.. aka Packie. I've lived and loved quite a few cats and a number of dogs, but none of them were as close to me as my Pack. For nearly 14 years he was my shadow, rarely out of sight and usually touching me if he could or better yet draping himself on my lap.
Him being a cat and not a human being doesn't make that any easier to cope with. It feels like I have shards of broken glass in my heart, and my eyes ache from all the tears. I know from past grief that this deep pain will ease over time, that it will become a thing of sudden moments of loss and not a continuous ache. It will go from constant companion to daily visitor and eventually to an image , sound or quiet memory.
Packer, though unable to speak, told us in many ways that he was loved. When we brought our 1st grandchild into the house he made himself quite comfy sleeping with her almost protecting her. He has laid and even played with my 3rd grandchild 8 years later.
He was there for me through every post op surgery I had. The coolest cat in in house.
It has been said that actions speak louder than words. In many ways, Packer spoke of his/her constant love, respect and loyalty to us. We have come here to say farewell to a true friend and loving member of our household. We thank You, Lord, for sending us this beloved companion. Packer—- you will never be forgotten.
Cross over that Rainbow
bridge and find Jet. I hope you get lots of fish treats, a plushy frog, and paper bags.
Love you Packie
