Nubbie Mackey was born in September 2012. At four weeks old, he, his siblings, and mother came to me for fostering. Nubbie was born with only a femur for a back leg, and I immediately knew he would be mine forever. He had his stump amputated to a nub at 12 weeks old, but he never missed that stump and grew into a strong boy who could run like the wind. He was by my side through my darkest days and led me to my happiest days with a dad who loved him for the last 12 years of his life. Nubbie led an inspiring life of resilience and true love. We hope his siblings, who crossed the bridge before him, have reunited with him and that they all meet up with Willard and Mabel when their time comes. We were blessed and honored to be his humans for 14 years. We love you Nubbie, the goodest boy.
