Obituary

Helen Keller once said, "the best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart".
Nokkie was born October 24, 2002 in Roanoke, Virginia. After a brief stint with her first family in Atlanta, Georgia she was welcomed into her new forever home less than one year later. While her first home contained two larger brothers who were a bit rough and she carried a few permanent scars as proof, her new home found a safe environment with a new brother and sister of the same genetics making her feel safe and sound. Gabel, a Chinese Crested Powderpuff, and Grace a True Hairless Chinese Crested like Nokkie, along with her new parents Tracy and Allan welcomed her with open arms.
Nokkie was a compact little Angel weighing four pounds. She was a mighty little package over-flowing with adorable personality. She quickly  became a Momma's girl with a loving Daddy taking no offense.
Nokkie's demeanor was awesome. She did not bark for the entire first year - but when she finally learned to speak there was no stopping her. She quickly let her brother and sissy know that while tiny - she could hold her own.
Nokkie was also quiet the little prankster. She learned to use her tiny frame to her advantage. While playing, she would entice her new siblings then instantly twirl herself and do a  180 so their reaction would find her teehiney and not her face. It was a hilarious spectacle. She quickly claimed the nicknames of Nok-Nok and Nokilicious!
Nokkie loved long naps with her Mommy, instigating under cover frolics with Grace at bedtime, long naps in the sun in the bay window overlooking the lake, and hiding under warm clothes fresh out of the dryer.
In 2014 life dealt Nokkie a blow we simply did not foresee. Lurking in her heritage was a gene that reared its ugly head and within a course of only two weeks Nokkie was robbed of her eyesight by progressive retnal atrophy.
Adjusting to her new condition, Nokkie pressed on learning to cautiously navigate her home. She exhibited relentless perseverance, tenacity, and determination while relying on her Mommy to protect her from any and all obstacles.
The bond between Nokkie and Tracy was unbreakable. Neither gave up on the other while her Daddy was always there for support. During this time, after losing Gabel and Grace, her new brother and sister, Ozzie and Lyric tried to assist. While neither understood why Nokkie would not play or react to them, Lyric was constantly found sleeping with Nokkie instinctively knowing she was needed.
In April 2017 we noticed a decline in our little fireball's health. A trip to the doctor showed no signs of illness or organ failure so we hoped she would bounce back. However on Thursday May 18 Nokkie received her well deserved little Angel wings. They must be brilliant. Nokkie being apricot with solid white locks. We thank God for enriching us by placing your tiny, innocent, bundle of joy in our lives.
Nokkie, Mommy and Daddy love you - we always loved you. You brought endless joy to our lives and we never abandoned you. You never walked alone - we walked through the dark storm with you - we were always with you. Mommy is forever lost without her precious little baby girl. Find Gabel and Grace ... until we are all together as a family once again. Tight hugs precious. Rest in Heaven.
