Jack

(a.k.a. Whacko Jack-o)

After approximately 17 years, Jack has officially clocked out and crossed the Rainbow Bridge—on his terms, of course.

Jack showed up in our lives in the middle of a snowstorm like he owned the place, and honestly… he never stopped acting like the boss he was. For the next 16 years, he ruled not only our home but also three much larger dogs who somehow agreed he was in charge. Size: 8 pounds. Authority: absolute.

He was picky about his food, strongly opposed to having his feet touched, and had no problem reminding anyone—humans included—where they stood. He bit a vet. He peed on another. He held grudges, set boundaries, and never once apologized.

Jack was the very best dog—and we were lucky to be able to keep him as long as we did. Loyal in his own way, hilarious without trying, and completely unforgettable. He didn't just live in our home—he ran it.

The house is quieter now, the big dogs are confused, and we're all a little less in line without him. We will miss him greatly—but we know he's already in boss mode, running things again with the pets who went before him.
